E346b – LIVE announcement of the Oregon Timber Trail at Base Camp Brewing

Harry Dalgaard & Gabriel Amadeus present the first public announcement, explanation, and question/answer session of the Oregon Timber Trail, a new public route allowing people to cross the state of Oregon from south to north (or vice versa, weather conditions depending) by mountain bike or a number of other methods.  We were there and caught it on tape!  Thanks to Base Camp Brewing for hosting the event, filling its walls with perhaps more beards and cycling caps than ever!

E336b – Collabofest!

Our friend Ross Putnam from Base Camp Brewing helped to put a street party together in front of his brewery.  Collabofest 2017 featured 16 local breweries working together to experiment and innovate; we went to taste some collaboratively created beers, meet some people, and enjoy the crisp winter day with friends!

We spoke with people from:
She Jumps
Base Camp Brewing Co.
Laurelwood Brewing
Ex Novo Brewing Co.
Culmination Brewing
Ecliptic Brewing
Ted Beer at The Slammer Tavern
Happy Mountain Kombucha
Oregon Timber Trail

E334 – Sean Stroup Working on Gateway Green

Sean Stroup is working on the Gateway Green project in Portland, Oregon, a planned trail riding park that will leverage a large unused property on the east side of town to allow for the first real recreational off-road bicycling within city limits! What will it take to make it a reality?

E180 – Dan Kaufman & Nathan Jones: Fatbikes & GPS

Dan Kaufman runs CrankMyChain Cycle TV & pdxk productions and has a deep love for bicycles and their implications for culture & conservation (and this time around, we didn’t make him come on the show while he lost his voice!)
Nathan Jones is the proprietor of Ride Yr Bike and has had numerous inspiring adventures in nature using bikes, including Tour Divide, the Oregon Outback, and his inspired TransAmerica touring race.

Both of them also are enthusiastic supporters of the Salmonberry Corridor project to renovate a derelict rail line into a multi-use path from Washington County to the Oregon coast; so much so, in fact, that they rode self-supported to one of the public input meetings in Wheeler, OR to add their voices.  We talk about all of this and more!
