E257b – Todd the Truck Driver (and Sydney!)

Todd the Truck Driver is a fan of the show and was moving his daughter Sydney into her new home in Portland, so we invited them to join us for the studio session this week!  We talk trucking turkey with Todd and explore the world of freight transport, including how he gets around when his driving hours are up!  Hint: it includes a bicycle.

E253b – News, Mail, and an Overnight Ride

We got mail. Hey! We got mail!

Also, some news, and Brock recounts his overnight ride to Tacoma, WA from June after Terry at The Beer Mongers reminds him that he never told the story.

E253a – The Schmidts Return!

The Schmidts are back for another show; we spent a lot of time talking with them before about the route and places they saw on their last tour through central Oregon, but they also know a lot about what a family with young children needs to have a fun and enjoyable tour. Custom advice: coming up!

E236b – Bike Friday Review

Listener Jim from New York asked us to check out an interview possibility with people from Bike Friday, the company in Eugene, Oregon who make bicycles, including the one Jim rides every day.  I spoke with John “Raz” Rezell who hooked Brock up with a Haul-A-Day test model to ride for a month and evaluate.  It was a fantastic ride and great for people who want to haul cargo on a bike that is designed to be portable!

Thanks to Raz & Bike Friday for the loan and the conversation, and we look forward to speaking with them again in the future!

E235 – Bikes For Humanity PDX / OK Mom

Andrew Shaw-Kitch & Scott Anselmo from Bikes For Humanity drop in to chat about how they’re getting more bikes under people for the common good and enjoying themselves along the way!  Also, Anna’s mom Betsy Meeker visits from Oklahoma and fills us in on the “bike phenomenon” of the 1970’s!

Thanks to our beverage sponsor, The Beer Mongers, and, as always, thanks to our generous Patreon donors that keep us going!

Also:  Thanks to Sebastien for the mugs! Brock rode another century; Aaron is done with tubeless rims and describes a toe injury in graphic detail.

Paul & Caroline Zavitkovski are perhaps the biking-est couple in Portland.  They had a bicycle honeymoon of epic proportions, transport their pug Rando in a specially built bicycle sidecar, and are cheerfully dialed into the bicycle culture here in town.  We discuss the best Pug ever, a bikey wedding, and a honeymoon across the northern tier of the continental US, including North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, & Maine.
