E248 – lnewt1

Laurie is a bicycle camping, distance riding, low-car living Portlander who camped near us in January; we finally meet face to face and talk travel, our town, and transit together.

E247b – Aimee Benner: West Sac Veggie Trike, ECRs, & Carsick bags

Before his tour started, Brock hung out with listener and generous supporter Andy in Sacramento; Andy took him to The Bicycle Business and introduced him to Aimee Benner, an employee of the store who ended up having some fascinating conversation with them.  They cover Carsick Designs’ bags on the Jones H Bar, Brock test rides aSurly ECR, and they talk about the West Sac Veggie Trike and builderCycleTrucks.com!

E247 Back in Town, Catching Up

This week we catch up on Brock and Aaron. Both arriving home from their prospective trips abroad. Brock talks about diving into the deep end of the pool that is Mtn Bike Oregon and Aaron wonders if he could’ve got a bubble machine.

Welcome home Brock, and happy birthday!

Thanks to our beverage sponsor, The Beer Mongers (don’t forget to look for the photoset of the cyclocross team), and, as always, thanks to our generous Patreon donors that keep us going!

note: there was some software issues. Aaron lost all the original audio and had to use our backup file. He didn’t have much time to edit it, but he got something resembling an episode.

E246 – Eva from Clever Cycles

Brock & Aaron are both out of town, but you’re in good hands, since people you’ve met before ARE actually flying this thing.  Eva from Clever Cycles is this week’s guest!  Thanks to our fantastic ghost hosts, Guthrie Straw and Steph Routh!

In this episode we cover:

– The future of cargo biking. (Or as Portlander’s call it “getting to where I’m going”)

– Family friendly riding in Portland, and abroad.

– “Making it till you Make it”.

– Trivia & Interesting things that all Americans probably should, but don’t actually know about Canada.

Join us!

This week was more of an “in-depth” interview with Eva as an episode, we’ll be back with mail & news updates in next weeks episode!

E245b – June2015c

Yes, I know it’s July. But it’s not like we here at Sprocket Headquarters have any sense of time. I mean, how long did we keep on that #boatmonth thing?

Anyway, This is the third (and final?) installment of auditory stimulus from our adventuring two.

I mean, their final recording for this summer’s trip. I didn’t mean to get all dark on you all.

E245b Tim Mooney Headlines and News

Welcome back “Friend of the Show” Tim Mooney!

I’m brining you all headlines and mail first because it’s impossible to cut anything from the interview-proper and as one file I ended up with 1h40m. So, for the sake of bandwith (yours and mine) I’m giving you 2 for the price of one.

More to come!

E245 Tim Mooney Pedalshift

We took our voices, recorded them, and out came gold!

For those of you who aren’t already fans of Tim’s podcast The PedalShift Project, you’re in for a treat. In this podcaster’s humble opinion, as far as touring-focused podcasts go, this is the most informative and insightful. However, we pretty much talk about everything under the sun EXCEPT bike touring. You can’t cage the conversational beast, you just have to let it run.

Also in the studio we welcome back Guthrie Straw of Pedaldream. Man, if this guy doesn’t end up with a podcast of his own someday, it’ll be a damn shame.

OH! Did I forget Delani? Aaron brings us naming oportunities! (you’ll get it once you listen to the show)

Here’s the interview-proper.

E242 Tim and Austin of Holy Spokes

Happy tuesday folks! This week we have Tim and Austin formerly from Rolling Wrench (we’ll clear that up in the audio). We talk about his mobile repair shop and the transition into Holy Spokes, which I mix up all through the episode. Chris Gonzalez from Chico comes back to hang with us because he had a lot of questions about mobile repairs. Guthrie Straw from Pedal Dream also joins us as a substitute cohost and fills us in a little with what’s been going on in his life.

Dammit! Forgot to get pictures.

Thanks to our beverage sponsor, The Beer Mongers, who will be having the Sour Beer Festival this weekend June 19 & 20. Sour Beers on all taps Friday starting at 3:30pm with U.S. Breweries, and continuing Saturday, all day, with Imports.

As always, thanks to our generous Patreon donors that keep us going!
