Surprise! Elon Musk Is Revolted By Transit
Listen to the words Musk says, and it’s clear he has a very superficial understanding of the dynamics of transportation systems. “People like individualized transport,” alright. Until they all want to go the same way at the same time in big clunky cars and get stuck in traffic. The frustration of a traffic jam is something Musk is quite familiar with, and yet he seems oblivious to the fact that his own individualized transport solutions will end in the same congestion.

Elon Musk Calls Transit Expert ‘An Idiot’ and Says Public Transport ‘Sucks’
A Boring Company spokesman sought to clarify to Wired that Musk was criticizing current public transit systems, not the concept of public transit as such. Musk’s ambition, which he’s pursuing through projects including The Boring Company, is to replace subways and buses with autonomous, individualized ‘pods’ to take riders precisely where they want to go, on demand.

Southeast Portland Fred Meyer to close
The Fred Meyer at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Foster Road will close by Jan. 20, the grocer’s corporate parent said Wednesday, citing underperformance.
“The decision to close this location was based on long-term business performance and forecasts,” spokesman Jeffery Temple said in a written statement.
