Brock went to Boston as is his custom for the Christmas season, and while there he spoke with Michael & Bianca of the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race, an amazing feat of engineering and teamwork that sees groups compete with homemade human-powered machines through obstacles such as a river and a mud pit. Nathan Jones hasn’t been on the show in a while, and that’s because he’s been busy riding 18,000 miles around the planet. This weekend he gave a presentation at Bike Gallery’s Westmoreland location about the whole trip, including passage through monastery-filled eastern Europe, assembling a bike alone at 4am in an Indian airport, viewing a piece of Skylab at a truck stop in Australia, and letting the wind blow him around for a while in America’s heartland. He also discussed Mike Hall’s legacy and how he carried Mike’s bicycle tire pump the entire way. We’re sharing audio from the entire 2 hour presentation here!
